Am I really as neurotic as I feel?

About me

Blogger:
I'm a jumble of neuroses--some good, some bad, some just plain weird. I love the Iowa Hawkeyes. I'm intensely loyal to my friends. I would love to earn a living by traveling around the world taking pictures. It's a difficult journey to the center of my soul. Several have tried, none have succeeded, and a few have nearly exhausted themselves in the process. I'm not an open book, but sometimes I read like one. I like dogs.

I often wonder who all reads this.  I know the regulars...but the map shows there are a lot more of you out there.  It's okay to say hi.  :-)

I hope this Christmas/holiday season finds you all in good health and happiness.  My departure for my parents' house was delayed until tomorrow, so I'm hoping the snow, wind, and roads aren't too bad.  I'm disappointed, since I have to drive back home on Christmas so I can work the next day, and I'll have only one night there.  But I guess that just means we have to be more efficient with our eating, drinking, and merriment.

Hawaii pictures!

These are just some of the 1200+ pictures I took...I haven't even uploaded them all to my computer!  So of course there will be more later on...sometime...  :-)

Oil still drains from the Arizona...less than 2 quarts per day

USS Missouri (the whole time I was there, I kept thinking "America! F yeah!")

A rainbow appeared between the Missouri and the Arizona memorial (I'm sure I have a better picture of this)

Cripes...I'm gone for 2 weeks and eeeeeverybody has to blog all of a sudden!  :-P

I'm pooped...17+ hours and 5 airports from Kaua'i to home.

No parasailing, but we did take a helicopter tour Saturday morning of Kaua'i...we saw where Jurassic Park was filmed (as well as several other films)...Mt. Waealealea or whatever it's called (D and I kept calling it Waymalaylaylay) was somewhat clear, so we got to fly over the wettest spot on Earth (440 inches of rain/year) and we saw some AWESOME waterfalls.  We saw where we turned around on the north shore because water was pouring over the road (even though we saw a couple other cars made it through, we weren't really comfortable, because one slip of the tires, and we would have ended up in the ocean, which was maybe 10 feet away).  We saw where the rich and famous hang out.  We saw more waterfalls.  Awesome ridges and various geographical awesomnessities.

I'm pretty sure it was all fake.

Except for the rain.  Waikiki gets 20 inches of rain a year, and I'm pretty sure at least half of that fell while we were there for a week and a half.

Aloha!

Things are great, although it's a bit rainy for my tastes.  Time on the computer is running out...lots of things done, lots to do.  Hope to parasail on Waiki before Wednesday.

Toodles!  Aloha!  :)
