I'm a jumble of neuroses--some good, some bad, some just plain weird. I love the Iowa Hawkeyes. I'm intensely loyal to my friends. I would love to earn a living by traveling around the world taking pictures. It's a difficult journey to the center of my soul. Several have tried, none have succeeded, and a few have nearly exhausted themselves in the process. I'm not an open book, but sometimes I read like one. I like dogs.

I'm so flipping excited for tomorrow that I could just puke. Did you see the Gameday crowd? Schnikes. Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic, long, crazy, exciting, and interesting day. I really hope I can sleep.
The p-f sent me a couple of cards...a get well soon card that was really cute and a sympathy card. He's a total sweetheart. I love his accent.
My nephew wouldn't stop humming the Imperial March towards the end of my aunt's funeral, so I had to take him out. He's so funny...my aunt would have gotten a kick out of it. My cousin's daughter (about a year old) decided to take a little walk towards the front of the church. Those two joined us a little after we stepped out.
Did I mention that I'm really excited for the game tomorrow?
My aunt passed away yesterday evening. After starting to sort of talk and even sing a little bit in the last couple of weeks, apparently enough was enough.
Happy International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!
In the past week or so, I have gotten (in no particular order) viral bronchitis, DVR, a pseudo-fiancee, tickets to the Minnesota-Iowa football game, someone else's tickets to the Minnesota-Iowa football game (his envelope was stuck to my envelope, but I sent them back to the ticket office), and I may get a bit of a promotion next month if everything goes according to plan.
It seems as if good has triumphed evil this week...except for when I'm coughing.
The Hawks managed to squeak out a victory of Syracuse, thank goodness. I don't think I've very loudly said (okay, maybe yelled) that many obscenities during a football game...which says a lot, because I tend to have a potty mouth during games. The game finally ended in the second overtime when the DL made 7 (seven!!!) stops at the goal line. It was a thing of beauty. I was just happy to get out of there with a win, given Kirk's teams tend to struggle a bit in September, our All-American talent QB was out with an injury (that hopefully will be magically cured by next Saturday..maybe they can spray some of that stuff they use on soccer players on him), and our backup (senior) QB hadn't started a game since high school and was thrown into a very noisy dome. I'll take it!
OSU beat Texas. Yay!
For my Florida State friends, they won another nailbiter...some of us were talking during the game, and one of them actually gave up paying attention to the game and focused on the alcohol....she couldn't take it anymore.
I got a lot done yesterday, though. I usually do during away games. I have all this nervous energy before and during the games, so I can't sit still. I tend to stand during the games, hands on hips or arms crossed. It makes jumping and yelling at the TV much, much easier.
I tend to watch away games by myself...for good reason, as I'm sure you can see.
God, I love football season.
The game Saturday was great. It was so nice to get back into Kinnick and smell the smells, see the sights (some of them new!), and cheer. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend.
Here is a random video for y'all...it's one of the best (arguably the best) cover I've heard. I never really thought about the lyrics of this song, but slowing it down really brings out their meaning.
