I'm a jumble of neuroses--some good, some bad, some just plain weird. I love the Iowa Hawkeyes. I'm intensely loyal to my friends. I would love to earn a living by traveling around the world taking pictures. It's a difficult journey to the center of my soul. Several have tried, none have succeeded, and a few have nearly exhausted themselves in the process. I'm not an open book, but sometimes I read like one. I like dogs.

We leave for San Diego bright and early Sunday morning. We get back Wednesday night. Then I leave for my kickass driving holiday (yes, I'm British right now) on the 9th. I'll be back from that on or before the morning of the 22nd. So, dear motime buddies, no blogging between now and the 3rd week of July!!! I can't be expected to catch up on 3 weeks' worth of blogs, so just don't do it.

Well, it was worth a shot.
Suggestions for things to do in San Diego and the Arlington-->North Carolina-->Miami area are greatly appreciated. :-)
If the cost of being half of a relationship is losing all of who you are, the price is too high.

I get to see Michael Buble tonight!!!
eeeeee!

I was driving back home, and there was a storm front (which passed over us before I began my journey home...it was a bit of a storm, for sure) that I got in front of. There was potential for some excitement, and I kept turning my head to get a view of the clouds as there were a few that were trying to make their way downward. They didn't quite have the power, but I decided I need to be a storm chaser.
The people with whom you work reflect your own attitude. If you are suspicious, unfriendly and condescending, you will find these unlovely traits echoed all about you. But if you are on your best behavior, you will bring out the best in the persons with whom you are going to spend most of your waking hours. -Beatrice Vincent
I just bought plane tickets to San Diego!! Holy cow. July 2 can't get here soon enough!
I have a chance to go to the following places in July:
San Diego
Arlington, VA (Hi, Arlene and JustMe!!)
Raleigh/Charlotte
Miami
Woo!!!!! It would require breaking into my savings account, but how often do opportunities like these present themselves?
Good trip, good friends, good food, good beer, good times, good jazz, good to be home.
Mom just told me what my nephew said this morning as they were going down to the basement.
Nephew: Aw, Nana, there's Bup's leash. We should have given it to him.
Mom: Why?
Nephew: So since he's up in Heavens, he can go for walks when he wants to.
Mom: I think up in Heaven, he can go for walks whenever he wants.
Nephew: Okay.
I don't think I could love that kid more if I tried.
